CD Projekt delays Cyberpunk 2077 and suddenly the spring looks pretty quiet - milleransuchan
CD Projekt Red
Not all that long ago, the spring of 2020 seemed like a Golden Age of wonders. We complained in that location would betoo many games—Lear Dogs Legion,Last Light 2,Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2,Baldur's Logic gate III, and the crown jewelCyberpunk 2077.
Forthwith uh…maybe no of them will release in the spring. Most were already delayed or simply absent, i.e. we harbor't heard Holy Scripture ofBaldur's Logic gate IIIsince the Google Stadia outcome announcing it last June. Only now CD Projekt announcedCyberpunk 2077 is retarded to September 17, where it will joinSentinel Dogs LegionandBloodlines 2.
From CD Projekt's statement:
"We are presently at a stage where the game is dead and playable, but there's still work to exist done. Night Metropolis is massive—full of stories, satisfied, and places to visit, but imputable the sheer scale and complexness of it all, we need more time to finish playtesting, fixing, and polishing. We wantCyberpunk 2077 to be our crowning achievement for this generation and postponing launch will give us the precious months we need to make the game sodding."
That all seems perfectly healthy, and y'know, cue that Miyamoto quote active delayed games. We've been done this a hundred times, and I certainly didn't expectCyberpunk 2077 to release without at least one blown firing date. But then, Ihoped April was locked in, because short the spring is looking jolly damn barren—and the back half of the yearpacked. With unweathered consoles due to arrive in November, havingBloodlines 2,Watch Dogs,Cyberpunk, and peradventur more as an appetizer feels like some an embarrassment of riches and absolutely exhausting.
But hey,Doom Eternal is still releasing in March. Small miracles.
